ye i dont know if there was another post like this but do you guys know how much horsepower a muffler and a pod filter adds to our 5E-Fe's jsut out of curiosity

Basically 0. Malibuguy, I think it was him, anyway, someone had dynoed a 2nd gen 5efe with a pod filter and with the stock intake. The difference was +0.2hp or something like that... in favour of the stock intake.

Those 10-15hp numbers are marketing estimates designed to make you buy the unecessary parts they are selling. If you want more power out of your 5efe then turn it into a coffee table and put something else in there.

If you want more power out of your 5efe then put some forged goodies in there and slap a turbo on.

The intake with a filter gives the car a nice sound. I noticed when I used to have a CAI and a little bit bigger exhaust, header back, not just muffler, that I lost low end torque.

lol coffee table Very Happy...ye it only has better sound waste of $80 lol could have got something else...for now the 5e-fe wud have 2 do until i save up $$$ then go the 4age or the turbo

I put down 86hp to the front wheels back in the day on a dynojet, with a cat back exhaust and shorty intake. Not bad considering that it's supposed to have 91hp at the crank from the spec sheet.
